FLOWER BEDS

At the entrances to the village centre we have created some welcoming flower beds and plant these each year.
Thanks for advice and help must go to Gavin at Firs Farm Nursery, Scropton.
LOVE GRACE HANDBAG APPEAL

We loved the Love Grace Handbag Appeal so much that we decided to join in - people can donate a handbag and/or toiletries and we distribute the to women's refuges locally so that every woman escaping domestic violence feels supported.
Mickleover residents have, as ever, been remarkably generous.
PROJECTS
PLANTERS

Starting with the village centre, we have purchased and placed six planters to beautify the area. These are planted with summer bedding and winter displays. Further planters will soon be placed at the other district centres (Silverhill and Devonshire Drive areas) and, again, planted twice a year.
BARRIER PLANTERS

We were donated some planters by the Community Centre to be placed outside the centre. More flowers to water !!
FRIENDSHIP AREA

We are working with the Neighbourhood Board to create a "Friendship Area" in the village centre with seats and planting - where people can linger a while and chat or just watch the world go by.
OLD PHONE BOX

Near the Station Road end of the Mickleover Railway Walk (part of Route 68 on the National Cycle Network) is an old phone box in need of refurbishment - we plan to invite local craftspeople / enthusiasts to help us restore it.
BUS SHELTER

On Etwall Road, opposite The Square, sits a rather unattractive bus shelter. We are planning, with the Neighbourhood Board, to make a feature of it ..... maybe flowers and a mural ? Or something completely different ??
